Little Evyn’s Photoshoot - Old Town Spring, Texas

Last Month, Chad and I were contacted by Molly and Travis to do a family shoot with their adorable little girl, Evyn.  Molly has seen blog posts of Jenna and Wyatt’s engagement session of Old Town Spring, and loved the surroundings.  I was so honored that people actually read my blogs that we planned a little session at some of the same locations in Old Town Spring.

Little Evyn is a girl after my own heart.  I too was bald until the age of 2, but little Evyn wears it so well with precious little curls in the back!!

She truly adores her Mom and Dad, so we got lots of family shots of this wonderful close family.

Molly also wanted some photojournalistic style photos for their home, so we we had lots of fun creating unique, one of a kind images.

Enjoy!

Isn’t she the most adorable thing ever?  Plus, we found a boat, of all things, and got some fun shots playing in our lake of grass.  ;)

Silliness is best viewed large.  :)

This one may very well be my favorite…

Doesn’t she have the most gorgeous blue eyes?

This little girl loves bugs.  We told her there was a bug on my camera and she wanted to see for herself!

What’s that gator got in it’s mouth? (It ended up gobbling up lots of grass, rocks, and a sippy cup!)

Chad picked up a camera and helped me out.  While I was so enamoured with little  Evyn’s activities, he got this wide shot of the whole family.

Finally, I have got to get me a polka dot table.  Look how fun these are!

Thanks Molly, Travis, and Evyn!

Bryce’s 6 month session - Kingwood, Texas

All other babies out there, you have something to aspire to… to be as sweet as this little guy! I have so many photos of this little guy smiling and playing, I had a hard time finding my favorites. He’s got those beautiful baby blue eyes and a very dashing personality to go along!

It was sweltering hot, and Bryce (and his parents) were so patient in scheduling the session (it was re-scheduled about 5 times due to afternoon summer storms), but it was worth it!

Janae and Brad are new to Texas, so we found an area close to their home for the shoot. We went to East End Park in Kingwood which backs up to part of Lake Houston. We started the session by taking a 1/3 mile hike to a spot in the shade by the lake thinking it would be cooler, but it’s hard to escape the Texas heat without an air conditioner…

And because I always love little feet shots...

After our walk by the lake, we returned to the open field at the front of the park. We even encountered some wildlife trying to stay cool.

Fortunately, we were on a wooden walkway about 3 feet above this wildlife specimen

And when I had just one more shot left on my memory card, we captured this little jewel.

Thank you, Bryce, for being such an angel and making my job so easy! :D

Updates and McKinley and Noah

Ever have those times when you feel totally overwhelmed? Isn’t it the greatest feeling when you can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel? (Cliche, I know.)

I think I got myself in a little over my head in the last couple of weeks. Starting back almost a month ago, I had two photo sessions in one day. The next weekend, I had three family shoots. That following weekend (I think I’m at April 19th now), I was supposed to fly out to meet a friend in Virgina, but last minute, she couldn’t have me stay. It turned out to be okay (not just okay, but great!) because we got a call from a totally awesome couple to come and photograph an engagement session!

Last weekend, I had the opportunity to second shoot a wedding with the uber talented Christine and Elaine. On Monday, another totally awesome photographer, Stacy Reeves (who I assisted at a very exciting wedding last year), invited me on (my very first) Trash the Dress shoot.

Which leads me to today. Right now I’m typing this from my Blackberry in the car as we’re driving to Dallas. (Don’t worry, I’m not driving.). :p Isn’t technology awesome? (I’m probably going to find a ton of typos, misspellings, and realize the whole thing doesn’t make sense when I get to a computer.) Anyway, we’re driving to Dallas to for a family photo shoot and for our nephew’s 1st birthday!

I promise this whole blog had a point that tied into the first sentence. Obviously, I’m behind where I want to be because I’m just now blogging about the third photo shoot from April 13th. The reason I’m behind is that I had a total of four papers due at school since April 21st and photo shoots EVERY weekend! (I’ve been a wee bit stressed.)

The light at the end of the tunnel? Finals are this week, all my papers are completed, and I only need three more credit hours until I graduate with my Associate of Arts degree!

Throughout my return to school and a busier than expected wedding season, my dear Chad has patiently waiting by my side, helping out anywhere he can. He may be guest blogging again for me soon!

And now back to your regularly scheduled blog.

Adorable little Mckinley turned one! To help her celebrate, her Grandmother Pam flew in from from Pittsburgh and her aunt Liz and cousin Noah flew in from Washington DC! She’s such a special little girl!
Mckinley’s parents asked that Chad and I come and photograph their little daughter with her 4 month old cousin at Grandma Kathy’s house.
I had trouble narrowing down my favorites for the blog, but here they are, with commentary.

Mckinley is the happiest little girl!

I think she wanted to come check out my camera

She is just too cute!

Beautiful Texas Bluebonnets - Independence, TX

My first official blog post on our photography blog..

This past weekend, Kelly and I were able to go out and “flock through the bluebonnets” so to speak. Actually, we had a photo shoot in Independence, Texas and bluebonnets happened to be the theme, hence the pictures below. Before we did the shoot, we had to get ourselves into the bluebonnet spirit, and what better way to do that than attend the 2008 Bluebonnet festival in Chappell Hill , Texas!!!! The only problem was once we got into the festival, we saw nothing that had to do with bluebonnets. We expected to see demonstrations like “how to make bluebonnet center pieces” or “how to make Bluebonnet Jelly”, but to no avail. It was mainly people selling crafts, turkey legs and Landshark beer which I did fork over 3 bucks to enjoy.

After we left the 2008 Bluebonnet festival, we met up with Tim, Maggie, and their 3 girls in Independence, Texas. We were told there were a lot of bluebonnets in this small town. We finally found Old Baylor Park and several patches of bluebonnets within the park. Here are some of our favorite pictures. The first one was taken by me (Not Kelly).

Paul and Kim’s family photo shoot - Spring, TX

Now don’t get me wrong, I love being busy, but this weekend was crazy! Three photo shoots in two days (and a total of 350 miles!)

From bluebonnets in central Texas, to the sandy beaches in Galveston, all the way to Grandma and Grandpa’s house (not my grandparents, but for little Mckinley it was)…

More about all that later, but right now I’m in the process of editing the second photo shoot from last weekend of Kim & Paul and their 6.5 kids (.5 because number 7 is on the way)! Kim even showed me the spot on the wall where she is planning on hanging their latest family portrait. I can hardly wait until August to “update” their family photo and to take photographs of their newest addition!

Here’s a sneak peek from last week’s session…

The whole gang!

Now what is it with me and getting pictures of kids on swings? :)

Newborn Angel Angela

One of my best friends from high school welcomed her first little bundle of joy into the world last week, and yes, I had the lucky honor of photographing this beautiful little blue eyed, strawberry blonde baby!

Meet Miss Angela Marie!

Easter Photo Shoot

I had the opportunity to photograph the Phillips family while they were in town this Easter. I’m not done processing all the photos yet, but I wanted to post 2 of my instant favorites.

Little Hailey has inspired me. Watch for the “Holidays” gallery coming soon to my website!
