Erika’s Senior Portrait Session - The Woodlands, Texas

Last month, Chad and I headed over to Erika’s home in The Woodlands for her high school senior portraits.

I really enjoy senior sessions because you get to work with some young, beautiful, and intelligent students, and Erika was certainly no exception.

When we first arrived, Erika and her mom told me that they loved this photo on my website:

I love that photo too, but I am partial. (She’s my little sister!) Erika reminds me soooo much of Kristin (liking similar movies, plays, games, ivy league schools :p ). For the record, much to Chad’s dismay, Kristin is starting her second year at The University of Texas at Austin because it’s relatively local, and because of their awesome Geo Sciences program.

But enough about Kristin… this blog post is about Erika! So here’s some of my favorites, plus some photos of the whole family!

Doesn’t she have such beautiful eyes and long lashes!

While we were inside, we had Erika’s younger sister join her for some sisterly shots.

We headed outside for some nice outdoor shots in the family’s lush backyard. This fun shot below is the one she chose for her high school yearbook! Doesn’t she have gorgeous hair?!?

Then we grabbed the whole family for some fun and unique family shots!

Thanks everyone! It was a… splash!

Little Evyn’s Photoshoot - Old Town Spring, Texas

Last Month, Chad and I were contacted by Molly and Travis to do a family shoot with their adorable little girl, Evyn.  Molly has seen blog posts of Jenna and Wyatt’s engagement session of Old Town Spring, and loved the surroundings.  I was so honored that people actually read my blogs that we planned a little session at some of the same locations in Old Town Spring.

Little Evyn is a girl after my own heart.  I too was bald until the age of 2, but little Evyn wears it so well with precious little curls in the back!!

She truly adores her Mom and Dad, so we got lots of family shots of this wonderful close family.

Molly also wanted some photojournalistic style photos for their home, so we we had lots of fun creating unique, one of a kind images.

Enjoy!

Isn’t she the most adorable thing ever?  Plus, we found a boat, of all things, and got some fun shots playing in our lake of grass.  ;)

Silliness is best viewed large.  :)

This one may very well be my favorite…

Doesn’t she have the most gorgeous blue eyes?

This little girl loves bugs.  We told her there was a bug on my camera and she wanted to see for herself!

What’s that gator got in it’s mouth? (It ended up gobbling up lots of grass, rocks, and a sippy cup!)

Chad picked up a camera and helped me out.  While I was so enamoured with little  Evyn’s activities, he got this wide shot of the whole family.

Finally, I have got to get me a polka dot table.  Look how fun these are!

Thanks Molly, Travis, and Evyn!

Bryce’s 6 month session - Kingwood, Texas

All other babies out there, you have something to aspire to… to be as sweet as this little guy! I have so many photos of this little guy smiling and playing, I had a hard time finding my favorites. He’s got those beautiful baby blue eyes and a very dashing personality to go along!

It was sweltering hot, and Bryce (and his parents) were so patient in scheduling the session (it was re-scheduled about 5 times due to afternoon summer storms), but it was worth it!

Janae and Brad are new to Texas, so we found an area close to their home for the shoot. We went to East End Park in Kingwood which backs up to part of Lake Houston. We started the session by taking a 1/3 mile hike to a spot in the shade by the lake thinking it would be cooler, but it’s hard to escape the Texas heat without an air conditioner…

And because I always love little feet shots...

After our walk by the lake, we returned to the open field at the front of the park. We even encountered some wildlife trying to stay cool.

Fortunately, we were on a wooden walkway about 3 feet above this wildlife specimen
Fortunately, we were on a boardwalk about 3 feet above this wildlife specimen. Can anyone identify the kind of snake?

And when I had just one more shot left on my memory card, we captured this little jewel.

Thank you, Bryce, for being such an angel and making my job so easy! :D

Happy Birthday to Arnold! Galveston, TX

During our busy weekend, on Sunday morning, Chad a I woke up bright and early and drove down to sunny Galveston to meet Arnold, Irene, their 5 daughters and 7 grand children.

Why were they all there? It was Arnold’s birthday! He was turning 65 and his family flew in from as far as California to spend his birthday weekend with him!

This was such a large and cheerful family, Chad and I really enjoyed spending the morning with them. (I also really enjoyed feeling the sand between my toes and the waves splashing on my feet.)

Chad and I later headed down to The Strand for a cool Sunday morning stroll before our afternoon shoot with Mckinley and her cousin Noah (but I’ll save that for a later blog).

Below are some of my favorites from that crisp morning.

Someone spotted a dolphin

The birthday boy with his beautiful wife
Grandma and Grandpa with all the grand kids

And with all the girls!
And now for the families…

What? Was I not supposed to take this one? ;)

Yes, I asked them to hug. But they did! And aren’t they so cute!

And now it’s time to swim!

Beautiful Texas Bluebonnets - Independence, TX

My first official blog post on our photography blog..

This past weekend, Kelly and I were able to go out and “flock through the bluebonnets” so to speak. Actually, we had a photo shoot in Independence, Texas and bluebonnets happened to be the theme, hence the pictures below. Before we did the shoot, we had to get ourselves into the bluebonnet spirit, and what better way to do that than attend the 2008 Bluebonnet festival in Chappell Hill , Texas!!!! The only problem was once we got into the festival, we saw nothing that had to do with bluebonnets. We expected to see demonstrations like “how to make bluebonnet center pieces” or “how to make Bluebonnet Jelly”, but to no avail. It was mainly people selling crafts, turkey legs and Landshark beer which I did fork over 3 bucks to enjoy.

After we left the 2008 Bluebonnet festival, we met up with Tim, Maggie, and their 3 girls in Independence, Texas. We were told there were a lot of bluebonnets in this small town. We finally found Old Baylor Park and several patches of bluebonnets within the park. Here are some of our favorite pictures. The first one was taken by me (Not Kelly).
