Bryce’s 6 month session - Kingwood, Texas

All other babies out there, you have something to aspire to… to be as sweet as this little guy! I have so many photos of this little guy smiling and playing, I had a hard time finding my favorites. He’s got those beautiful baby blue eyes and a very dashing personality to go along!

It was sweltering hot, and Bryce (and his parents) were so patient in scheduling the session (it was re-scheduled about 5 times due to afternoon summer storms), but it was worth it!

Janae and Brad are new to Texas, so we found an area close to their home for the shoot. We went to East End Park in Kingwood which backs up to part of Lake Houston. We started the session by taking a 1/3 mile hike to a spot in the shade by the lake thinking it would be cooler, but it’s hard to escape the Texas heat without an air conditioner…

And because I always love little feet shots...

After our walk by the lake, we returned to the open field at the front of the park. We even encountered some wildlife trying to stay cool.

Fortunately, we were on a wooden walkway about 3 feet above this wildlife specimen

And when I had just one more shot left on my memory card, we captured this little jewel.

Thank you, Bryce, for being such an angel and making my job so easy! :D

“Out of office”- Niemann Family Reunion in Branson, MO (Updated!)

Hey everyone!
I’m in Branson, Missouri right now posting this blog from Chad’s iPhone because there is zero Internet access. (I don’t know how I’ve survived this long!) I’ve barely even had phone service! (Right now I’m on top of a hill under the stars where I can get a strong enough phone signal to get on Wordpress.)
Anyway, the Niemann Family reunion has been a great success. I’m listening to one of our cousins, Chase, playing the guitar singing “Simple Man”.
Tomorrow we will be driving to Attica, Kansas to attend the Attica Rodeo and my mother-in-law, Janna’s 40th high school reunion.

Maybe I’ll find somewhere tomorrow to “borrow” Internet access and post photos.
And if I don’t, I’ll see y’all next week!

Updated!

Every 3 years that we have the reunion, we hold an auction to raise money to pay for the next reunion.  The item Chad and I brought to auction off was an Aaron Brothers frame with a thick mat for everyone to sign around a photo.

Since all of you couldn’t make it  ;) , here is the picture we took of (almost) everyone who was able to make the journey.

Caryn and Shane’s Enagagement Session - Tomball, Texas

Chad and I hung out with Caryn and Shane right before July 4th for their engagement photos.

Caryn had selected these unique and beautiful locations for their shoot.  First, we went to Shane’s brother’s neighborhood, the Parks at Glen Arbor in Tomball, to shoot the first part of their session at the neighborhood lake.

An approaching storm stopped for us to give us this dramatic sky

From there we moved on to Vintage Park...
From there we moved on to Vintage Park…

Caryn and Shane are planning their honeymoon in London, so this Tuscan themed center was a close to Europe as we could get for the day.

Jumping!

Jumping!!

They called this one their album cover. I love it!

They called this one their “album cover.” I love it!

After the fun shots at Vintage Park, we headed to the nearby HEB Vintage Market for some photos with… shopping carts.  (I’m weird, I know.)

We’ll call it a “buggy rodeo”…  :p

I am certain they will choose this one for the newspaper!  ;)

Thank you Caryn and Shane!  We had a great (and silly) time with y’all!

Jenna’s Bridals! Antique Rose Emporium - Independence, TX

We’re about to head off to Jenna and Wyatt’s wedding today, so here are the long awaited photos of Jenna’s Bridals!

Even though this was technically the last photo of the day, I’m going to start with it because it does a perfect job of setting the scene…

The bottle tree behind her was pretty nifty!

It may not be well known that Jenna is quite an accomplished “wedding dress jumper”

I looove this photo  of the flowers falling over the path with the sun beaming in and the lines of the bricks leading up to Jenna…

Yes, I was down on my belly.

She has such a cheerful smile!

Doesn’t she have the most gorgeous eyes?

My favorite!

Swinging!

I lurve the soft, evening light!

I love having brides as hot as models!

Playing with light… Jenna’s sister Catie was an excellent assistant!

Lauren and Timmy’s Wedding - Houston, TX

I love taking photos of people, life, and events.

I participated in a community service project today down in the Arcola / Fresno area (which I honestly never knew existed - Fresno even has a Post Office!) thru The Fort Bend Corps.  I had the choice of painting a house or picking up trash (I chose to paint).

One of my friends down there said, “Kelly, where’s your camera?  I don’t think I’ve ever seen you without it!”

While I am hoping that she was being sarcastic, no, I didn’t have my camera, but yes, I do tend to tote it around pretty often.

Even when Chad and I were invited and attended Lauren and Timmy’s wedding last month, I snuck my camera in (with my loooong telephoto lens) and made a point to stay out of the hired photographer’s way.

I only took about 15 photos, mostly of my friends I was with, but I did manage to fire off a couple of shots during the father-daughter dance.

This is my favorite.

They had a beautiful ceremony at Second Baptist Church in Houston, and a colorful and fun reception at nearby Houston Country Club.

Congratulations to the new couple!

Some of my favorite things…

Hey there!

I haven’t had a chance to blog in a while, I’ve been running all over the country. But while I’m coming up with a “real” blog post (complete with photos and all), I thought I’d share with you some new wedding things.

I came across the site Dolly Couture today. Dolly is a designer out of LA who custom designs 50’s style wedding gowns for under $400! And they’re adorable!

Fellow photographer Christine Tremoulet is quite a busy gal! She’s redesigned and taken charge of a long running site for all things wedding, Wholly Matrimony. It’s full of fun things and lots of tips and tricks for destination weddings.

Last but not least, I’m now one of the featured vendors on The Knot! Go check out my listing, and if you’re a “Knottie” (and one of my brides), feel free to gab about me on the boards and tell all the other Knotties how totally awesome we are. (”We” as in you - being a rockin’ hot bride, and me - as a kick butt photographer. By saying that, I’m not trying to discount a groom reading my blog, but I don’t imagine there are very many guys perusing The Knot. Correct me if I’m wrong.) :p

Stay tuned! I’ll have some new posts soon!

xoxo
